One day, I painted my kitchen and couldn't stop blogging about it.
Before, the kitchen was full of fruit and I don't mean the edible kind.
Now, it's full of light and if I painted a pink stripe around the room, by golly, it would look like an Easter egg. Ahem, please take note, my kitchen is clean.
I had about two minutes 53 seconds of clean kitchen and then my children entered the room.
Now, what about the dining room? Do you think the can of Bondo and the scrapers and putty knife and drywall compound will get in the way when I'm putting Easter dinner on the buffet?
I'm officially declaring a state of ignorance. In my eyes this is a beautifully painted dining room with no gaping wound in the wall.
Hey, I've got an idea! Come back tomorrow and I'll show you some pictures of my newly painted kitchen.

Wonderful. Where do you get that much energy? Thanks for sharing. I luuvvv your house. Margie
Your dining room wall gives me great comfort. It kinda matches my front wall, which I guess would also be one of the walls in the dining room. There it sits, the last wall still waiting for plaster and paint. This August will be 3 years in our new and yet to be finished house.
I don't even want to discuss the three holes dh cut into one of the perfectly painted and *finished* walls in the bedroom to vent the ceiling. Did you know tongue and groove cathedral ceilings have a tendency to sweat? And that no one tells you about these things until after you've put it in your house? And then they just say, "Oh, yeah, that happens. Cut some holes in your nice, finished walls for ventilation."
The kitchen does indeed look very lovely and light. Plus it makes your cabinets stand out. Nice! Oh and the unfinished dining room? Well don't get me started about all the unfinished projects around our money pit. Seven years and still working on stuff.
Don't you dare put pink in that kitchen. Just step away from the paint brush. I love the new look and can't wait to see more pictures. The dining room can wait a few more days (weeks?).
Looks fabulous. I see that beautiful dining room too, I really do.
April,
I've been reading your blog for several months and love it! What color paint and brand did you use? I've been looking for a shade like that.
Carol,
The paint is Ralph Lauren eggshell, color is celery. I bought it at Home Depot. I used a brush on most of the kitchen because the spaces were too small to use a roller and one coat covered the wallpaper. I'm very happy with the quality of the paint.
Looks great but don't add the pink accents! Lawman and I are painting our bedroom on Friday. This is one house project we don't necessarily do well together. We'll see what the day brings.
