Spring Break

My goodness, it's amazing I am able to type. I've been gardening the last two days and my hands, back, neck, legs....okay my entire body is really sore.

Which means that for the last five months I have not moved a single muscle and now I'm paying for it.

We are so busy, so I'm just going to give you a run down and hopefully get some photos up later.

- built new raised beds
- hauled home a truck load of compost
- trimmed trees
- burned brush
- got baby chicks
- got more baby chicks
- got turkeys
- got two bee hives
- four pigs are being delivered on Tuesday

I'm exhausted.

Goodnight.

I really, reaaaaaaally need to hear more about these bee hives. I'm quite interested. And we're building raised beds, too! How many did you build? I'm not 100% sure of how many we will need... Hope these muscles feel brand new tomorrow!

Bees!?

Hey. I want some.

It's so freaking cold here I don't even have the spring TO DO list made yet much less started on it.

The forsythia should be blooming by now. What's up?!

You are two months ahead of us. We are still in the winter freeze here in MI. Not fair! Enjoy your warm weather!
Can't wait to see those little piglets!

Yes, it was beautiful and sunny even here in gloomy Central Mass. I had my head stuck in a particularly dark hole in the garage, but I got it clean!

Our bees died this winter, it was so cold :(

But my husband is going to try again!

Looking forward to pictures!

Oh, I really really envy your hurting muscles...one of my dreams is to have a home with (some) land....to garden and have animals...I don't know about pigs, but definitely chickens! Please share more about the bees and turkeys...well, really about all of it. Can't wait for the pics!

Dang it stop bragging. We had about 15 minute of sunshine then it commenced to blow and snow and rain and sleet and now we just have a big mess of slush.

Bees! I would love to have them here. But there are rules here about them. Sometimes urban life stinks. Of course, I think that way right up till I remember I can run down the street to 7-11 and get a slurpy.

Man, Gurl... You're killin me!, just Killin me.... The ground here is frozen solid for a good two months still.
I will have to live through your garden till then...

It's that time of year! And about time, too!

We have newcomers to our little homestead as well, and the garden is just begging. Looking forward to 64 degrees tomorrow...

You'll have to post some photos of your garden efforts and new babies...

I definitely want to see pics of those "raised" beds. I need to know how to do it myself so my husband will have another project to complete for me.

I'm so jealous! We've still got a few weeks to go till it's warm enough to do anything outside.

I have been a "lurker" on you blog for a while now and want to thanks you for a very entertaining, fun, funny, touching, beautifully photographed blog. It inspires me. I come here to be inspired to the blog thing, but I would read yours no matter:) I feel like I know you and would be your friend in "real life"!
