Guess what I did?

Wanna guess what I did yesterday?

Here's some clues...

1. My hands are aching.

2. My back is sore.

3. It was snowing, raining and really cold outside yesterday. (That's for all you crazy people that are going to guess I was gardening).

4. It has something to do with repairing something that was broken.

5. I spent no money.

6. Think about the room that I talk about the most in my home.

7. I have a lot less of something stored in a box....a lot less.

8. My hands, did I mention how sore they are?

9. Calico Corner, TG&Y, Wal-Bart, Gibsons and JoAnns all played a part in my activity.

10. Who grew up with a TG&Y store? We called it Toys, Guns and Yo-Yos.

Do you know? Huh? Can you guess?

Pictures and the full story at ten.

I'm guessing you upholstered some chairs....

My aunt worked at TG&Y for many years...we no longer have them in KY

I'm guessing you painted and upholstered or recaned (is that what it's called?) your dining room chairs.

Yes, I remember Toys, Guns & Yo-yos!

I have no idea what you did. It's hard to say. I'll be sure to check back to see what you got yourself into!
Yes, I do remember TG&Y and we called it Toys, Guns and Yo-yos here in Ohio too.

I grew up with Toe-Go and Yoes. I miss that store madly, deeply and sadly!

I have no idea. The only thing I can imagine is you cleaned out your attic.

I guess cleaning an attic or reupholstering chairs. Because that's what everyone else said...wait no, I know...

You had marathon, kinky sex with bizarre props!

That's it. I know it is.

No pictures, please.

Unless it involves Clay dancing...

You seem to talk a lot about your basement and all the animals down there so...

...you made your chickens a crafting studio?

I just reread your post and decided I do know what you did. You recanned your chairs with your chickens

I couldn't hazard a guess what you did and I'm not creative enough to make something up, especially after all these ladies! As a matter of fact, we had a TG&Y in the small Alabama where I grew up and it never dawned on me to give it a name.

you re-caned your chairs. or painted them. Or just went through all the piles of fabric you had and were amazed that you still had stuff from TG&Y that was nice fabric and the little carbon copy handwritten ticket said 98 cents/yard. And your hands are sore because all those little carbon copy tickets were put on with pins that you didn't notice. Can you tell I cleaned out my craft/sewing closet with the intent of sewing???

I didn't even know TG&Y still existed. They left the small town where I grew up years ago. Now a 99 cent store is in its place. I sorted a box of spools of thread and bias tape today ... the majority of it all came from TG&Y ... which means it's decades old.

I'm guessing you did something incredibly crafty ... or else you had some exhausting and painful quality time with Clay, in which case you really don't need to post the details or photos!

My grandmother's little town had a TG&Y! I remember going there with her. I didn't know any of them still existed.

You worked on your dining room? We had a TG&Y up until about 1988-89. That was before the Wal-Phart boom. Now its the thrift store. I thought those stores were gone the way of most pre-Wal-Phart, 1970s stores. We never named it though!

Yes, we had one....Toys, Garbage & Yo-yos. We also had Gibson's and Howard Bro's, McCrory's and Sterlings (both five and dimes). Those were the good ole days.......before Walmart took over. We don't even have K-mart here anymore (No Louisiana). Can't wait to see what you created.

We had TG&Y - we called it TG & Head because they sold those awful $3.00 "cat head" tennis shoes. I still have some thread my Mom bought back in the day. Chairs look great - what a great idea!
