The Laundry Lady
Only my good friend, Mrs Mama, can make doing laundry look so good.
I'm having a serious internal battle with myself about posting these photos. But, remember I also posted photos of me in my clown costume.
So, I guess it's okay to step back from my martyrdom and post a few gratuitous photos.
Right? Hold on a sec....I need to go drink some Pepto and think about that question.
Yes. I swear. Everyday, I wear a skirt and heels and hang pretty quilts on my clothes line and I have a person taking photos of it and I post them on my blog for the whole world to see.
What? You don't? Why? Because it's not normal? What? I'm a weirdo? Where's that pepto?
I swear, this is the prettiest my laundry has ever looked and that's the best I've ever looked doing laundry.......uh, no, I mean I look like that ALL THE TIME!

Um...OK.
you should wear skirts more often, you've got a killer pair of legs!!
The photos are great...
Wait a minute. Are you suggesting that there are people out there who don't dress this way - all the time? What is the world coming too?
Yes, I agree, you do have nice gams...very Betty Grable feeling I was getting here...
Don't you love the control a blog gives over designing your life!!?? From here on in, go skirts and beautiful drudgery! Aprons! Crafts! Perfectly coiffed hair and matching children! And then medicate.
I'm just jealous you have a clothesline.
When I think of myself as a wife/mom/homemaker I actually see myself in the June Cleaver dress and heels. And I look stunning! So put together and fresh.
In reality ... I wear the clown costume pretty much on a daily basis around the house. I'm putting a new spin on sexy housewife!
i LOVE it!!! so fun and cute!!
excuse me while i go hang some laundry... i was going to say something about your sexy legs, too, but thought that everyone would think that i was weird. but i guess i'm not the only one!
Retro chic!
You need some Cleaver pearls though.
Love that third picture.
I envy the clothesline, the breeze and any random sunshine you have.
Sigh...which is better, the outfit or the clothesline?
Hard to say.
Here it's so wet...there's no where good for a clothesline...that isn't in the mud...which would sort of defeat the purpose...
I gotta figure something out. After all, where will I wear my fabulous clothes if I don't get a clothesline??
Those pictures make me want a clothesline. And a red stepstool/chair. And to do laundry--wait, maybe not! And you, my dear, look lovely!
Love the pictures! So glad you decided to post them.
Haha! Very cute pics!
I love the laundry bucket and the red stepstool.
You know Clay is going to drool over those pics and soon you'll have FIVE children.
Ooh, nice Farrah hair and head toss in that first pic of you!
As jealous as I am of those gorgeous, super long legs, I'm more envious of your ability to prance about in high heels--in the grass, no less. However did you keep from breaking your neck? I'd be afraid and I am much closer to the ground. Then again, maybe you are just more coordinated than I am. I feel so betrayed after reading all those posts about you being klutzy! I felt such a kinship with you over that. Now I know I am all alone.
I wonder if Mrs. Mama could come make cleaning these floors look glamorous. Mrs. Mama? Oh Mrs. Maaaaaamaaaaa! Guess I'll have to start on that second Twilight book instead.
I no longer feel weird that I was thinking, DAY-UM, she's got some nice legs!", since that seems to be the consensus.
Oh, and I LOVE the quilt in the first pic. Is it yours, or a prop?
I forgot.
Is it possible for Mrs. Momma to print any of the pictures in black and white? 'Cause I think pics 2-4 would look FABULOUS in B&W...very retro. Worthy of framing.
beautiful!
Now I really do dress like that everyday and I do my laundry and hang it on the line in 4 freekin feet of snow! ;)
Where are the dirty undies?
Is that quit from The Company Store?
The all pink quilt my mom made when Ellen was a toddler. The block quilt is also Ellen's, I bought it at Home Goods 5-6 years ago.
Thank you all for saying my legs look great. It's a good thing you can't see the bruise on my shin or the cellulite that starts at my knee and ends at my neck.
April, this was a great post! A real breath of fresh air after a long, tiring, busy day at work & church.
You look great! Do a post in the kitchen with a kicky apron next.
You look FANTASTIC! I really love the one with your back to the camera
It would only be truly gratuitous is you'd worn stilettos. You're good. Fabulous, in fact.
Funny stuff...new reader
Shelly
You look ADORABLE! Love the photos!
Hi, I love your blog! You look like a great family. Thanks for the fabulous photos and videos and other insight into your life. :)
WHAT the heck??? You have green grass and can hang out laundry already???? Suppose I could hang out the laundry but it would be snow covered and hanging in the snow and look like snow and then be under snow. *$#@&^% snow!!!!!!
Oh ya, nice outfit!
Great post- great photos- I love the last one of you standing straight and tall mid hang...also just the shot of the laundry and red stool.. Please consider doing a photo essay of all your chores dressed June Cleaveresque---that could be fun!
Wow!
Just beautiful and fun and sexy ;o)
Lovin' your hair! The pictures over at your sister's site are great also!
Oh, and if you do combine blogs - I put in a request of more videos of your husband dancing. Too funny.
Can't wait for the next post
Um...OK.
The writer is totally right, and there is no skepticism.
