Remember summer?

The glorious sunsets and balmy evenings.

The kids playing outside.

Fellowshipping outside.

Kids playing outside.

Eating on the porch.

Raising the pigs.

The kids playing outside.

The flower pots I habitually forgot to water.

The kids playing outside.

Summer, come back. I'm ready for flip flops, open doors, shorts, trips to the creek, gardening, pigs, new chicks, the sound of the mower, fresh cut hay and HEAT.

I almost hate to tell you this, but in San Diego (where I live), it's almost 80 degrees today. I hope your summer comes back soon too!

Also, have you ever noticed that no one says, "fellowshipping" unless they're talking about church people?! When I go to lunch with my co-workers we are not fellowshipping, but when I go to lunch with people from church, we totally get our fellowship on!

I'm a Texas heat girl, and I totally miss summer. Anything below 75 here is cold to me. Hot nights out on the back porch swing, listening to the crickets and drinking a Dr. Pepper - I long for the days......

Oooh.... yes please!

Yeah, thanks a lot for bringing up a painful subject.

I'm thinking you don't miss summer so much as just getting those darn kids OUTSIDE!!

It's never really cold enough for our kids to not go outside here. Sure we might get down to the 20's a handful of nights, but you can still go out.

Ohhh quit yer' whinin' girl! Geesh! You know nothing about winter. Come live here with me and you'll soon learn what winter is all about.
Our Thursday's temperature high is expected to be 3 degrees. Oh and add in the wind chill and well you know........
But I hear ya. I am so missing summer. Just makes me even more excited to leave for Florida on Friday! HEEE!

I wonder what summer will be like here this year. I was told last summer was "mellow". I had my kids in sweatshirts anytime we went to the docks. I guess summer here just means a little less rain.

You're the third blogger today I've seen with a case of winter blahs.

It's a cold dreary day with the wind that gets me down. Not to mention the piles of shoes, gloves, scarves, coats, jackets and sweatshirts that I have to scoop out of the way to navigate around my house. I get the winter blues in Jan/Feb every year. When I grow up, I'm going to vacation in a warm sunny place.

It was nice this morning and a good part of this afternoon. By "nice" I mean I got a little toasty in my long underwear, jeans, and sweatshirt when I was feeding the horses. I had to take off my coat. Then that nasty wind picked up. I could hear it start to howl when I was lying on my bed reading, and I almost unmade the bed so I could crawl underneath the comforter.

In response to Southern Gal's "fellowshipping" comment, I do say "fellowship" or "fellowshipping" in other contexts, but people look at me weird. I used to say it all the time at Scouts, but the people who were not of the same religion--and even some fellow Christians--were confused and thought I was trying to introduce some religion into things. I merely mean it in the sense of enjoying time with one's fellows, hence *fellow*ship. Unless I mean it differently. Context people! Of course they don't understand context if they aren't listening in the first place, which seems to happen often when I talk. I think this may be why I feel the need to post lengthy comments.

I have been cold to the bone for days and it got worse today when my co-worker told me that when I get to Chicago this week I should expect a HIGH of 5. 5, I said. That is just not right....not that God makes mistakes.

Your pictures warmed me up. Just a bit.

Thanks-

I try to take each season for what it's worth. There is so much to get done in winter to prepare for the coming spring and summer. Time to organize. I'm not saying I do it, I just like to acknowledge that's what I should be doing. And come summer I'll be yearning for the cooler days and wondering why I wasted so much time not getting anything done. This is how my mind works.

Here in Florida, we don't have a "true" winter. It was a bit chilly yesterday, around 70degrees or so. My oldest spent 2 years in Nova Scotia, so we don't dare say we are feeling a little cold. He greets such comments with, "Cold? Cold? You don't know the meaning of cold!"
I don't miss Florida summers, but I do miss Australian summers!

Are you feeling a bit claustrophobic? Too many kids in one house? ;)

Laugh at me when it's summer and a steam room outside.

You should live in Middle Georgia. It's 32 at 7am and 72 at 3pm. You get to experience several seasons in any given day.
Now tell us more about your 'Dave Ramsey' experience.

Amen to that, sista! I'll send my crew over any summer day --- and maybe we'll even get that furniture painted come summer.

I'm in Alabama and it's like 45 today and I'm freezing! I miss summer's so hot and humid it takes your breath away. I HATE the cold, I would probably die in Kansas (or anywhere else that actually has winter).
