My Favorite Family Photo

And I'm not really in it. I told myself I wasn't going to post very many of these family shots, because I do keep some of my life private. Har har hahhahah! Ahem.

Yesterday, the sweet lady that took these photos watched my two youngest boys while I went to a volleyball tournament. My baby, Levi, who has been potty trained for over a year and I don't know the last time we had an 'accident' decided to crap his pants while she was watching him. I wouldn't have know about it if I hadn't seen the fancy ninja turtle underwear Levi was sporting, which we don't own. That and his older brother said, "Levi pooped his pants". I had to call and apologize to her.

This morning I took Ellen and my two littles to the second day of the eternally-long volleyball tournament. We were sitting in the bleachers nestled close to other parents and I kept getting whiffs of the stink that I personally know comes out of only one little butt hole. I know that stink all too well to deny that it isn't coming from my son. Given the previous day's 'accident' I kept asking, "Levi! Do you need to go to the bathroom? Do you? Do you need to go poop?" What I really wanted to do was get on the PA system and say, "It's not me! I swear! It's my son! He really stinks! Whooooo-weee, does he stink!"

Anyway, he didn't need to go poop, he just smelled like it. Good Lord help me.

If you've had any experience with a little stinker or, like me, a ginormous stinky monkey butt, then go over and give my girlfriend some love. Cause it's one thing when it's your own flesh and blood, but it's just awful when it's not your own stinky kid.

Awwwwww! The is a great pic! I'm going to assume that the hand Clay is holding is yours, right? And I do have some knowledge of stinky butt holes, I'm not naming names. Just sayin!

Hilarious! Gotta share this:

My youngest son, 5 at the time, was in our den playing.
He suddenly pipes up, "Excuse me."
My daughter, 18, ignores him.
So he says it again only louder. She says, "What did you do?"
He says, "I pooted."
She says, "Ethan, that is so gross. What's a girl going to say if you do that in front of her?"
Without missing a beat, he replies, "She's gonna say, 'Wow, you're a good pooter!'.

I hope he finds that girl someday and marries her.

Of my three little ones, all three stink, but one absolutely insists on sharing her smelly poots with a crowd. What I mean is she NEVER poots alone. She must insert herself into a tightly clumped (no pun intended) group of people and THEN release her noxious fumes. It reminds me of something my Grandma said one time, "It's not the smell that gets to me but, the green mist burns my eyes!"

It's such a relief to talk to other parents of boys. Little girls' parents just don't get where I'm comin' from. My own mom doesn't totally get it, because she raised only girls. She tells me I've gotten a little crass from being around boys too much or something. Thanks, mom.

Anyway, my point is, boys stink. And they love it. I won't mention the incident involving my 11 yr old, diarrhea and a football field in the middle of nowhere...and what a bad smelling ride home that was. I promised not to blog about it...but commenting doesn't count, right?

My youngest son just got consistent in pooping in the potty just in time for school. He still has accidents at home. Anyway now whenever he makes a poop on the potty he announces it loudly and wont stop announcing until someone comes and checks it out. We had been incentivising (bribing)him with nickels at the start so he sometimes still wants a nickel. I may be the only mom around that has to pay her kid to take a crap, but having an adult special needs kid that still doesn't have the hang of it I am not going to complain over a few nickels here or there.

Is this why I had dreams of poop and diarrhea? What I predicting that I would be reading about this morning before I am wide awake?

No, it's my life. Having a son with encropresis means you are never far away from that stink. :P

Love the photo!!

What a beautiful picture!

Stinky butt holes? Yep, I've got two boys. They stink. My girl gives them a pretty good run for their money too, but my baby boy proudly wins it. One would think something crawled up there and died. *gag*

I love your blog, April - I get my daily dose of smiles when I read here! Thanks! :)

The photo is wonderful! Thanks for sharing. I explained to my 4 year old daughter that at church we must let "quiet poots". She understood. We were having a moment of silent prayer and she looked at me and said "MOM, I JUST LET A QUIET POOT!" So much for silent prayers. I heard many silent giggles that day.

I can see why this is your favorite family photo, the only thing that would make it better is if you were actually in it! lol
I love the look on your hubby's face, he's just having the best time. And your daughter doesn't look embarrased like in the video!

Aint it fun to have kids! You described crap and poop perfectly!
So will she be photographing your family in the future or did you scare her away?
April, I've nominated your blog to receive a "love your blog" award, so stop on by if you would like to. No need to feel obligated, I just wanted to share in how much I enjoy reading your fun life.

April,

I often think your children are going to kill you someday! I have a feeling that your poor son will be mortified when he is 14 and he realizes that you announced to the whole world he pooped his pants!
