My name is April, I'm married to Clay, a very tall, very funny architect. He's the city boy and I'm the country girl but together we are turning into homesteading weirdos. We have four kids that we are trying our darndest to raise loving God and His creation. To know us is to laugh with us, we laugh a lot. Especially at each other.
Never heard of them either. But then I just googled it and found the reason I would have never heard of them not being German-Russian and living in Kansas. ;)
Nice teaser. I'm so excited. I haven't looked forward to something this much since the KU National Championship game last April.
It's a great way for me to relive my teaching days in Central Kansas, where bierocks were served in the school cafeteria. I miss those kids with the last names like Svitak, Jirak, Rzhia,, Pagenkopf and Hajek. I hope they're all doing well.
Gosh, I had completely forgotten that when I came to visit you on one of my trips, I ate at least 48 of your beirochs. Then I came home and made about 100 more. By then I was sick of them and they are still in my freezer, where I will continue to store them until I throw them away.
OMG ... can't wait to see/hear about your beerocks! (being from Cali, we spell it differently) My mom and grandma used to have beerock making marathons. We would have our freezer stocked with them for the rest of the year. I hope you post your recipe. Then come on over to my blog and check out my German Apple Cake recipe for dessert! YUM!
I've been away from Kansas for 20 years now and this is the first time I've been reminded of Bierochs; I LOVE 'em!! Can't wait to see your recipe! *my mouth is watering* !!

ooooh, exciting teaser! Can't wait to see more abut beirochs. What a fun new word.
Will there be a shipping and handling fee for orders? I can't wait to see the finished products! Love you and your family (sister included!)
Your boys made me laugh. You guys are a little crazy, I think. That's a good thing though.
Do you lie awake at night thinking of these things or do they just happen? I want to come live with you guys.
TIME FOR ME TO VISIT!!!!!

Are they anything like pasties?
No, not those. The cornish ones.
I have my late-Grandmas recipe. She was from Colorado, near the KS border. Can't wait to see your recipe and compare. I love them!!!
Clay is such a dork.
