Me- Who put the rags in the towel drawer? And, what is this? Who put the the dish rags in the towel drawer?!
Clay- Uh, I think that might have been me.
Me- Get in here.
Clay- No.
Me- Come here.
Clay- sigh... Okay, I'm here, what do you want?
Me- This is a dish rag it goes in this drawer. THIS is a dish TOWEL it goes in this drawer. And this is a RAG it goes in the mudroom. It is not that difficult, really. Got it?
Clay- You know that commercial where the lady holds up three different black heels and asks the guy which one looks better? And in his mind all the shoes look exactly alike?
Me- Yeah.
Clay- Well, I'm having one of those moments right now with all these rags.
And then I started choking him. But, then I remembered he is the same man that has ruined a good portion of my dish towels using them to check the oil in our vehicles. So, I pinched him really hard too.

Men, they just don't get it do they? Glad I'm not the only one that has a deciphering rage between kitchen towels and laundry room rags and where they belong.
I make it a tad bit easier in that I put the dish rags and the dish towels in one drawer and the RAGs in the cleaning closet. That would only be beneficial in the event that my wildest dreams and fantasies came true and I found my husband putting things like that away. It would, of course be after he did all the laundry and folded it first!
You know, if I'm gonna dream, might as well dream big!
Poor Clay and Poor you! It is hard to get them trained, isn't it?
Poor Clay. He just can't win. lol I'm impressed he's putting up towels at all. Mine doesn't do that sort of thing. So, don't be too hard on him. And at least he was checking the car oil, right?!
I have a very vivid memory from my childhood where my father took my mother's turkey baster to the garage to use in changing the oil in the car, then had the nerve to bring it back into the kitchen. They've been married for forty years and she's NEVER let him forget that.
Wait a minute. Clay puts things away? How? Why? I can't get my husband to do that. No, wait, I lied. Once he did try but he did it so badly that I still haven't been able to find some of it. I've always suspected he did it on purpose.
Is it a midwestern thing that we call those cloths for washing dishes "dish rags" as differentiated from rag rags? I never thought about this until one day when I was afraid I may have offended a craftsperson from whom I was buying hand-woven dish cloths and I told her how much I loved her "rags". Hey, I meant that in a good way.
And here we have towels and we have rag towels and you durn well better not wipe the floor with the wrong one!
And feel thrilled that your dh attempted to put laundry away!
He puts the laundry away?!
- he came when you called
- he puts stuff away
- he's humorous
- he checks the oil in your car...
Clay is AWESOME!!!
AAAWWWWW......at least he tried to put the laundry away in the right spot.......more then I can say for some in my house.......Ha!
I'm with Jill! He has many more good points that bad. And he's kind of cute too. :D
Hey, at least yours puts stuff away. My rags and towels just sit in a pile if I don't do it myself.
Be grateful for poor Clay.
He gives you lots of good blogging material. :)
My husband has lived in this home with me for 18 years. He takes pots and pans out when he wants to use them. Yet, when he empties the dishwasher, he has no idea where they go. So he puts them on the stove. Then I happen along and put them away. EVERY TIME.
When I point out this logic flaw in his logical personality, he claims, "You're better at it."
Doesn't he have a gift for the compliments. ::blush::
Help me. PLEASE! Can I pinch him?
I am so this way about laundry being folded and dishes being loaded in the dishwasher. I am trying to be better and just appreciate that he is FOLDING laundry and putting dishes away when he does it!
It is hard to give up the control though!!
I SO get that! No one but me seems to know where anything in this house goes! How the heck do you convince anybody where stuff really goes??
Kind of like my husband trying to figure out where all the pillows go on our bed.
