There really is a Coal Creek.....

Coal Creek is a magical mystical place.
Where children get lost in their adventures and little, blond-headed boys daydream.  Uh, is your shirt on backwards little, blond-headed daydreaming boy?
Ahem, right.  Back to Coal Creek....it's a place where tree swings were left abandoned by children of years gone by to be discovered by the young curious children of Coal Creek Farm.
The children loose all sense of time and place as they splash and swing and slide down the mud hill.  And point out all the wonders that live around the banks of the creek.

And they bring along their best friends.
Because Coal Creek is a fun place to introduce to your friends.
And Cousins.

Uh, hey little boy?  Do you have your shirt on backwards too?  Are you from a homeschooling family?  Just wondering.

Where is your mother?  Are you a fairy?  A backward shirt wearing fairy?  Or an elf?  Ogre?   Nymph?  Why are you looking at me like that?

Hey!  I'm talking to you!  Where you going?    Do I get three wishes?  HEY!  Okay, never mind.  THE END.

These are great pictures. What a wonderful life for your kids to have.

Mythical fairy boys are the best - you don't have to do their laundry after they've been playing in the crick. :)

Wow that brings back memories! A good swing over a nice deep swimmin' hole! Sigh!

Isn't it fun to have country kids? How blessed is a country life?

THis reminds me of the story Bridge to Terabithia. A very magical place.

That creek does look like a fun, magical place. I love the boys with their backwards shirts. My youngest son used to demand that his clothes all be worn backwards. For almost a whole year. It was the weirdest thing (thank god we're past it).

How deep is the creek; does it ever rise?
I was always made fun of when we all got together and did the rope swing - I have no upper body strength, so I would just drop right in. My cousins were mean. Boo.

My home schooled son has a shirt just like the little munchkin in the lime green with blue trim...and he always puts his shirts on backwards. I've taught him to pull the neck up to his eyes after he's put the shirt on and see if there is writing on the shirt. (Never thought I'd miss those annoying tags.) If he can see writing, he tries to turn it around. TRIES.

I'm here through your sister. Can't remember if I've commented before or not. Did almost get sick when reading about the chicken and her chicken parts. YUCK.
