I'm Super

Today, I taught yoga to all the homeschool kids at my little co-op.  Usually, there are several kids that can't listen or stop moving, but something happened when we were doing the simple yoga moves.  They were quiet, followed along and were so well behaved.  It was strange.  Like I'd drugged them.  Afterwards, two of the children came up to me and said, "Thank you for teaching PE today."  Uh, okay.  Weird.

Tonight, Preacher was playing on the floor like he always does.  I didn't know what he had, but I knew it was plastic.  I was thinking, maybe I should take that away from him.  He rolled on his back and the next thing I knew he was choking on that plastic thing.  "He's choking!"  I yelled at Clay.  Preacher started to panic, but I grabbed him and shoved my hand in his mouth ramming the plastic thing farther down his throat, but I got it out.  It was half a ping-pong ball...I think.  Preacher immediately curled up in my lap and licked my chin, it was so sweet, I could tell he was saying, "Oh, thank you, thank you!"  Geesh.

Tomorrow, I'm going to start sewing up my Super Yoga-Save the Dog Hero suit.  And I'm going to make a matching one for Preacher.  My friend, Lori Shaffer, is going to beg to borrow both of them, because she loves dogs sooooo much.

Does saving the life of a DOG make you a hero? ;-)

sigh....Oh, Lori.

I know it's a foreign concept for you, but I love my dog. And now, he loves me even more, because I'm his hero, he told me so.

I think yoga is the perfect way to start off a school day. Get the blood moving, relax and wind the kids down, better enable concentration and learning. Yeah. I can really see benefits to that.

Dang. I'm gonna have to start calling you "Mother Theresa". Which is much better than "Rechelle's half-wit sister".

You're just cool. I couldn't reach down the garbage disposal to save my poor fish yet you reach into a dog's tummy for a ball......make sure that suit is red, it's a power color

At first I thought...oh, how nice. She's linked to my blog.

Then, of course, I find out it's a link to the "I just gave away our dog...again" story.

Really, people, this does not represent the sum of who I am...I do have a dark side which is not particularly fond of co-habitating with canines, but I'm not completely awful....!

Lori, I'm nice and vindictive. Clay calls it my 'tickle-pinch'. If it makes you feel better, Crunchy called me a half-wit. But, these days I'm thinking that's a compliment.

Hey April, I love your blog! I know we've met, but I'm looking forward to getting to know you. You'll be a great addition to ye ol' covenant group. Thanks for visiting my very novice blog :)

Poor Preacher. Is he ok today? Give him a kiss for me and an extra treat. He had a traumatic experience. Never mind the choking, it was the fact that you shoved your hand in his throat! Poor dog. And teaching yoga to the kids is a great idea. I wish someone (hint, hint) would teach me.

Wow! You are super! That's neat about the yoga. I wonder if anything like that is used as therapy for ADHD kids and if it works/would work at all. Very interesting.

April,

I love the dog that Lori gave us, but I am not sure I would shove my hand down his throat to keep him from choking to death. I might try the heimlich, though.
